Access Control
We have a simple access control solution that can be quickly and easily deployed in a temporary manner in conjunction with normal registration services. This solution is ideal for controlling exhibitor access through the loading bay or restricting people entering the VIP and Media rooms. When used on all entry and exit points of the main exhibition hall the access logs can be used to give real-time volume reports - how many people are in the hall at any given moment, what are the average hourly volumes and what is the average duration of stay for each visitor.
  • Access Control Areas – registration groups are given access to configured areas
  • Photo ID – access can be denied to anyone who does not yet have a photograph captured
  • Entry/Exit Logging – all people entering and/or exiting an access control point can be logged
  • Asset Pairing – an asset register allows critical assets to be paired with owners

Access Control Terminal

Our system terminals can be configured for access control. Access into different areas can be assigned to the different visitor/delegate groups. An access control “area” is usually an exhibition hall, security office, press office or VIP lounge.

The visitor barcode is scanned at an access control terminal by security personnel and the system will either allow (green) or deny (red) access for that visitor. If a photograph has been captured for the delegate it will also be displayed – enabling security personnel to easily recognise badge theft.

Access can be denied for various reasons such as: the visitor group is not allowed into the area (eg: non-press cannot enter the press room), the visitor has not yet registered at the main registration counters or has not had a photograph captured yet.

This type of control is an excellent visual deterrent and has been particularly effective at controlling things like badge-swapping amongst exhibitors & their staff, and policing entry to venue loading bays, especially when used with photo capture.

Access Logging

Entry points or areas can be monitored for traffic flow and volume reporting. Real-time reports can be produced by using access control terminals linked to the network, which dynamically logs visitors as they enter and leave designated areas.

Portable scanners can also be used to provide delayed reports - for example, to keep a log of all delegates who attended certain break-away sessions. This offers a flexible alternative to the full access control methodology and does not require the installation of any computer equipment or networking, as the scanning units are completely mobile. Each scanner is assigned to an area or event and then uploaded to the system at a later time.

Asset Pairing

Critical assets (laptops, computers, projectors etc) can be paired with their owners. When the asset is removed from the hall its tag or serial number is scanned by security personnel and the photograph of the owner is displayed.
