There are various options for badge production. The badge is typically the following components:

• The printed badge (160g card)
• Protective plastic pouch
• Lanyard

The badge components are charged as per-unit consumables.

The materials, sizes and printing equipment we use for our badges have been selected (after many years of trial and error) to offer the best combination of price, quality, reliability, ease of handling, and speed of printing.

We offer the following types of badges: 

Standard unbranded lanyards with branded lanyard to the right

Plastic pouches: narrow, wide and standard size

Standard pre-printed badge templates (blank card for full-print designs in top right corner)

The cheapest options for large volumes are our pre-printed badge templates for the various visitor categories: visitor, delegate, exhibitor, press etc.

The printed badges are normally only placed into protective plastic pouches for conference delegates or exhibitors where a more durable and higher quality product is desired. For high volume exhibition visitors (where the badge is normally discarded after a single visit) the plain card badge and lanyard is adequate.

Our system includes a fully customisable badge designer. Any data from the registration database can be included on the badge.

Different badge designs are possible for each of the different visitor groups configured in the project.

Additional printing charges may be applied to heavy-coverage badge designs. For example: large area photographs will require significantly more ink than a simple black name print.

Our system can capture photographs for conference delegates, depending on your preferences or security requirements.

The photograph can be printed on the delegate’s badge, or it can be stored internally for security requirements.

Capturing photographs takes a little longer in the registration process and proper backing and lighting is required at the registration counters.

Standard size badge templates

Our system can technically print any design on any size handled by the printer hardware. However, certain parameters can have significant impact on overall registration performance:

• Badge Size
  Certain badge sizes are more easily handled by the equipment than others. For example, if the card size is too small then there will be a higher incidence of skew prints, misprints and paper jams - all of which affect visitor processing efficiency.
• Heavy Coverage
  Badge designs with too much coverage, besides consuming more ink and costing more to print, are more likely to be smudged (and therefore require reprinting) when handled by the operator. If the design contains a lot of high resolution graphics it will also take longer to print. A few extra seconds may seem trivial, but when multiplied over thousands and thousands of visitors it can seriously affect the throughput capacity of the registration system.
• Badge Material
  Printing on glossy material or paper with high clay content will increase the incidence of slipping, misprints and jams while printing. These all affect the visitor processing efficiency and the apparent level of professional competence experienced by your visitors.
